Welcome to the Makeup Bag Monday!
As you'll know (or will come to find out), I'm a collector of things. Way too many things. Too many of certain things to use regularly. Especially when it comes to makeup and cookbooks.
Something I've been experimenting with for the last couple of months is taking an hour or two on Sundays (usually) to rotate makeup items in and out of my weekly makeup bag, and choosing one or two cookbooks, and meal planning 3-4 meals to make. In practice, I've found that, because I live by myself, 3-4 meals, and then the leftovers work well for the amount of food I consume weekly. I also like to eat out 1-2 times a week (#singlegirllife #drinksandappiesFTW). For myself (and anyone else who eventually reads this...maybe...), I also wanted to take pictures/write some reviews of the things I liked/disliked, which I'm thinking I would post the following week
So far, I've been loving the makeup part, and failing a little bit at the cooking part. (see previous paragraph about eating out - sometimes that turns into #lazygirleatsouteveryday...or mooches dinner off relatives #agirldoeswhatshesgottado)
Thoughts?
*crickets chirping*
Great! Let's do it!!
Again, I'm planning to take pictures of each of the things, and share my thoughts on each meal/makeup item. If I learn how to take the pictures off of my phone onto my computer...
So, this is obviously the makeup post (see previous paragraphs about the meal planning fails), so lets dive in....
Typically, what I rotate out are eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers, and highlights. Everything else I keep at my disposal in my bathroom, and choose based on how my skin is doing that day/what colours I do with my eyeshadow look.
So for eyeshadow this week, I'm playing with these palettes/singles.

Singles: ColourPop Supershock Shadows in Sugar and Belladonna Lily
Pur Minerals Eye Polish in Satin
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Always Pearly Pink
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink
Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadow in Recharged
Palettes: Urban Decay Naked Smoky
Too Faced Sweet Peach
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude
Dose of Colors EyesCream
Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly
Some would probably suggest this is too many to choose from. This is a very small selection of my eyeshadows (I know, I know - I have a problem), and I feel very bored/trapped with only one or two options.
For other face powders/products, I'm playing with these.
Blush: Tarte Tarteist 2016 Clay Blush Palette
The Balm shadow/blush in Hot Mama!
Urban Decay Afterglow blush in Rapture
Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush in Earthy
Bronzer: Too Faced Sweetheart Bronzer in Sweet Tea
Highlighters: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Pearl and Champagne Pop
For the record, last week, I used all Makeup Geek products (blush, eye shadow, and highlight palettes shown below)
I mixed those in with a few single shadows/bronzers.
You'll notice the eye polish continued on for a week.... I didn't end up using it last week, but I really love it, so wanted to try it again. It's great for fast, pretty, subtle looks (really great for 445 am shifts!). I only managed to take pic of a makeup look last week :( (again, 445 am, I'm not really thinking about the pics, you know?) but I really enjoyed all of the products in the rotation last week. The CoverFX custom bronze drops are amazing - one of my favourite bronzers - everyone talks about the highlight drops (which I love too) but the bronzer just blends in sooo smoothly and beautifully.
Next Monday, I'll have some new products in my cute little Parisian tray/palette holder, and we'll talk about how this week's products stacked up.
